Report on LAUNCH OF PÃRAMPARE – REVA HERITAGE CLUB

About the Event/Activity: Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Design, REVA University in collaboration with Delhi Public School, North Bangalore launched PÃRAMPARE – REVA Heritage Club on 06th April 2023. 
PÃRAMPARE - REVA Heritage Club 
Understanding India: Stories from our Living past 
An initiative of the Faculty of Architecture, School and Design, REVA University, Bengaluru.
Aligning with the United Nations, SDG - 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities, the club intends to educate and create awareness about local history and heritage amongst the youth of the country, which further strengthens efforts to protect and safeguard the cultural heritage of India.
Prof. Vidya Srikanth was the chief guest for the event and Assistant professors Sanjeev Koppar Roshini M & Mahima Jagadeesh were the guest of honors. The event was presided over by the school Vice Principal Ms. Geetha Kandaraji and was coordinated by Ms Namratha Chatterjee & Cultural head & coordinator – Ms Gayatri Devi . The event commenced with a prayer song, followed by welcome speech by the school Vice  Principal Ms. Geetha Kandaraji and chief guest addressal by Prof. Vidya Srikanth. The poster of the club was launched, and badges were distributed to the students and the event concluded with a vote of thanks by Assistant Professor Mahima Jagadeesh. The event was concluded further by hosting of few traditional games by REVA university architecture faculty Ar Roshini M & Ar Mahima Jagadeesh. Some of the games were Aluguli mane & Chowkha Bhaara which were first demonstrated and then students played the traditional games with lot of enthusiasm in the outdoors in the school premises. 
Outcome of the Event: 
The activities that have been planned under the club with the school include:
- Interactive sessions to create awareness about the heritage and local history of Bengaluru.
- Yoga sessions for the school children at historic monuments on International Yoga Day.
- Hands on activities like heritage walks, quiz, painting, and essay writing competitions based on various heritage related themes in Bengaluru.

I would like to thank our Chancellor Dr P Shyama Raju, the management and Prof. Vidya Srikanth for their immense support in encouraging such initiatives.
