Participants:    47 Students, 7th Semester, School of Architecture

Faculties of the School of Architecture have organized a talk and interactive session for the students of the 7th Semester School of Architecture. It based on the guideline prescribed by authorities such as the Council of Architecture, and MHRD. Students from the school of Architecture have to complete, one year of Practical training from the 8th and 9th Semester. Hence the session focuses to bring awareness about the Internship criteria and requirement from preparing a portfolio, selecting a firm, applying, working, and completion.
 
Student comprehended the basic criteria:
•    Work in an office who does Architectural Practice
•    Supervisor/Trainer should be an architect registered with the Council of Architecture
•    Periodic Assessment by the architect/trainer must reach the school
•    Duration 1 year / 2 semester / 32 weeks
 
Students were illustrated with live examples, the type of work to be considered as learning from Internship
 
Students were also explained about the documentation essential for Internship
•    Appointment/Offer letter: Before the beginning of the internship to the faculty in-charge
•    Attendance: Monthly attendance to be submitted to Faculty in charge
•    Periodic Assessment by the architect/trainer must reach the school
•    Internship Completion Certificate: End of each semester, before the beginning of next semester internship
 
Further, a session on Portfolio making tips. Prof. Ujjal Halder illustrated various visual components for an interesting portfolio including, sheet composition, colour combination, Font use, write-up composition, selection of projects, improvisation on existing academic work, and so on.
 
All the faculty speakers shared their experience and wisdom on how to select offices, how to work, and create a positive environment during the internship and leave positive feedback. Tips for creating a CV, Portfolio making, and the list of Architectural offices have been shared. Students get benefitted with the session and showed sincerity.
