Report on 5 Days Virtual Skill Development Programme  On Analysis & Design of Tall Buildings using ETABS & SAFE
Date: 5th to 9th August, 2020

The school of civil engineering has organized five days Virtual Skill Development Programme
on “Analysis & Design of Tall Buildings using ETABS & SAFE -5th to 9th August, 2020 ”.  The main objective of the Virtual Skill Development Programme was focused to provide platform to young researchers and engineers, academicians and PG students, to familiarize the concepts of seismic considerations and foundation systems for Tall Buildings. The Programme provides the usages of ETABS software package for analysis and design of Tall Buildings, as well as frame analysis & design. The Programme also covers foundation design of Tall Buildings Using SAFE software package. Virtual Skill Development Programme was conducted on Microsoft Teams platform; about 120 delegates were attended.

The Virtual Skill Development Programme started with inaugural session which was chaired by Dr. Y Ramalinga Reddy, Associate Dean (CE&ME) and Director, School of Civil Engineering, REVA University.

The first day begins with first session addressed by Dr. Sunil Kumar Tengli, Professor, School of Civil Engineering, REVA University, on topic “Introduction to Tall Buildings” and second session addressed by Mr. Naresh Reddy G N, Assistant Professor, REVA University, on topic “Introduction to software package ETABS”.

The second day begins with first session addressed by Mrs. Bhavana, Assistant Professor School of Civil Engineering, REVA University, on topic “Concepts & considerations in analysis & design of Tall Buildings” and second session addressed by Mr. Naresh Reddy G N, Assistant Professor, REVA University, on topic “Modelling of Tall Buildings using ETABS”.

The third day begins with first session addressed by Mr.Jayachandra, Assistant Professor, School of Civil Engineering, REVA University, on topic “Seismic analysis of Tall Buildings” and second session addressed by Mr. Naresh Reddy G N, Assistant Professor, REVA University, on topic “Analysis & design of Tall Buildings using ETABS".

The fourth day begins with first session addressed by Mr. Naresh Reddy G N, Assistant Professor, School of Civil Engineering, REVA University, on topic “Seismic analysis & design of Tall Buildings using ETABS – Response Spectrum Method & Time History Method” and second session addressed by Mr. Venkatesh Wadki Assistant Professor, REVA University, on topic “Concepts & considerations in Foundations of Tall Buildings”.

The fifth day begins with first and second session addressed by Mr. Venkatesh Wadki Assistant Professor, School of Civil Engineering, REVA University, on topic “Introduction to software package SAFE”and second session “Design of foundation for Tall Buildings using SAFE”.
