Research talk on Magnetic Field Harvesting System for Monitoring Devices in Smart Grids

Title: Research talk on “Magnetic field harvesting system for monitoring devices in smart grids”
Date: 26 June 2020
Location / Mode of Conduction: Online using MS-Teams
Description: School of Electronics and Communication  Engineering organized a research talk on  " Magnetic field harvesting system for monitoring devices in smart grids" on 26.06.2020 at 2:00 pm to 3.00 pm. The resource person was Mrs. Pavana H
Mrs. Pavana H is a research scholar in REVA University she is pursuing her Phd under the able guidance of  Dr. Rohini Deshpande. She has served as Assistant Professor in various colleges from 2013-2019.Mrs. Pavana H has published 5 papers in international journal and conference. Her Research area is energy harvesting.

The summary of the talk was:
     Power grid are aged and overloaded and  are not reliable. Hence real time monitoring and fault detection is needed.
    Wireless sensor are used for real time monitoring.
    The drawback of WSN is battery depletion. To over come it WSN can made self Sustainable using energy harvesting.
    As we are dealing with power grids magnetic field is available Continuously hence magnetic field harvesting can be implemented for WSN to make it battery free.

The research talk was attended by faculties of school of ECE.
We would like to thank our beloved Chancellor, Dr. P. Shyama Raju sir for providing all facilities and support to conduct this programme. Registrar Dr M. Dhanamjaya sir, for their motivation, help and support.
We also thank our Director, School of ECE, Dr. R C. Biradar,Assistant Director Dr. Sudarshan K M , Team Lead Dr. Rohini Deshpande for their constant support and always motivating us to organize such events in School of ECE.
