The School of EEE had organized seminar on "Insulation Coordination of AC Transmission System and solution of surge arrestors" on 21st January, 2019 between 11:50 AM to 01:30 PM in KALPANA CHAWLA SEMINAR Hall for B.Tech. 6th Semester students.
The Seminar was delivered by Dr. Shivakumar Aradhya, Former Director, CPRI.
The lecture was focused on the following key points:
1. Introduction to High voltage
2. System Voltage – Nominal Voltage and High Voltage level
3. Over voltages
4. Types of over voltage based on its origin
5. Need for testing of high voltage and Insulation
6. Testing Requirement for high voltage
7. High voltage scenario in India and Job Opportunities
Following are the outcomes achieved:
1. Students will be able to understand the importance of High Voltage engineering.
2. Explain about system voltage – Nominal Voltage and Higher Voltage.
3. Understand the concepts of over voltage, types of over voltage and its origin
4. Need for testing and requirement of high voltage, High voltage scenario in India and Job Opportunity.
