With the revolution of free software movement, where the philosophy supports and respects the software users’ freedom,” School of Computing and Information Technology took a major initiative in bringing awareness to the future contributors in this sector.
The RED HAT Academy associates along with Best Red hat certified Training Partner (India & Overseas) COSS associates gave a seminar to the students to understand the importance of Open Source and its respective growth for the budding engineers.
Mr. Ramesh Padmanabhan, Director GLS RED HAT introduced to students the importance of OpenSource from industry perspective. He also introduced the RED HAT Academy programmes with academic institutions to offer top-quality education programmes on Red hat technologies to help students reach their academic and career potential.
As an RED HAT certified architect Mr.Gourav Sharma introduced the young aspirants to the various fields of Open source/Linux applicability in real time applications .Among the members from Industry were Mr.AneeshP.V- Partner Manager RED HAT,Mr.GouravSharma –Technical Head, and Mr. Sidhartha K - Consultant REDHAT.
Students of all semesters (2nd, 4th and 6th) along with other branch students participated in the seminar. The seminar involved interactive and lively talk, where the speaker from RED HAT motivated them by giving goodies to the participants with right answers for the questions asked.
The seminar, as an outcome has RED HAT certification programme, for which many students have shown interest and are getting registered. This was an indicator for the success of the seminar
