As part of the sixth semester Architectural Design Studio (B Section) the students are to design an institutional campus at Kengeri. The students were taken on a faculty accompanied visit to analyse the existing situation and scenarios in terms of a Master plan layout, services, Lighting and ventilation inside the various studios, safety and security measures etc., which will provide them with a better understanding to solve the design problem in terms of various space standards.
College of Fine Arts, Karnataka Chitra kala Parishath, Kengeri. The College consists of various courses related to the visual arts, painting and sculpture. The students were able to visualize the levels at various points in the site along with built spaces. The transition spaces in the semi-open environment were utilised well by the users. The services at the periphery and the drainage pattern were observed. All the studios were double heighted and well-ventilated using north light trusses. The students were able to understand the spaces required for various arts related courses from an architectural perspective.
