Skill development program was arranged by Biotechnology Department for the students of 3rd semester, M.Sc. Biotechnology at Biozeen, Hennur, Medauxin and Credora Life Sciences Bangalore from 18th to 22nd October 2021.
Biozeen is a private firm which manufactures state of the art fermenters & bioreactors and caters to several production houses, industries and research labs across the globe. It was a 5- day program which focused on providing hands-on training to the students in the areas of Downstream Processing (DSP) mainly, chromatography and filtration techniques. 36 students attended the program in batches of two maintaining COVID Protocol. The session was initiated by Dr. Nellaiah, Head, Research and Development and Training on the various bio-analytical techniques that are involved in research and development. The trainers played a great role in imparting knowledge as well skills to the students. The students received hands on in Purification process in downstream. Overall, the program proved to be beneficial in terms of getting a real time scenario of DSP in Industry.
Group of 12 students from third sem M.Sc Biotechnology completed their one week SDP on Molecular Biology technique module form Credora Life science, Bengaluru where the resource person was Mr.Sangam. Modules covered were DNA isolation, Gel Electrophoresis, RNA isolation from leaf and its reverse transcription to get CDNA, Real-time PCR handling, Bioinformatics tools.
12 students completed their one week SDP on Molecular Biology techniques at Credora Life science,Horamavu, Bengalore. The resource person was Mr.Sangam who gave good practical exposure on the modules such as DNA isolation, Gel Electrophoresis, RNA isolation from leaf and its reverse transcription to get CDNA, Real-time PCR handling, Bioinformatics tools. It was a very productive session as students gained hands on in various molecular biology tools used in industries.
