Talk on Career Guidance and scope of Electronics and Communication Engineering in Industry

The School of ECE had organized a talk by alumni on "Career Guidance and scope of Electronics and Communication Engineering in Industry" on dated 20th September, 2019, 11.00 am-12.35 pm at Aryabhata Seminar Hall for benefit of B.Tech. 3rd Semester students. The Director, Dr. Rajashekhar C. Biradar welcomed the resource person Mr. Vinay Karthik, Director, Mysore Infotech, Mysore. Mr. Vinay Karthik completed his Bachelor of Engineering from REVA ITM during the period 2007-2011. The diaz was also shared by Mr. Raveendra G. (Alumni Vice-President, REVA Alumni Cell), and Mr. Nataraj Urs H. D. (Alumni Coordinator, School of ECE). 

Talk focused on the following key points:

1. Seeking job after graduation (B.Tech.) and the seriousness towards the University placements.
2. Taking up higher studies in Engineering (M.Tech/MS/M.Sc).
3. Importance of GRE, TOEFL, and IELTS Examination and its procedural. 
3. Various Fellowship and Internship opportunities.
4. Interdisciplinary opportunities in terms of many tie-up projects. 
5. Opportunities as Software developer.

Outcomes achieved by the technical talk:

• Students gained the knowledge about placements and importance of placements in the present competitive world. 
• Understanding the importance of data sciences, IoT, Machine Learning, Virtual Reality, Enterprise Business, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Automation, Cloud, Networking and Storage. 
• Requirements/Needs by the Industry towards recruitment of candidates
• Importance of Electronics and Communication Engineering and its role in various application areas.

Response:

• The 3rd Semester students interacted with the resource person enquiring for few tips to be followed to get placed.
• The session provided a great exposure to 3rd semester students as they had just entered the ECE Domain.
