Theme Based Story Telling Competition

Event: Theme Based Story Telling Competition

The Story Telling Club, School of Arts and Humanities of REVA University conducted theme based story telling competition on 24thAugust 2020 through online conferencing platform, Microsoft Teams. The competition was conducted in three languages - English, Hindi and Kannada. There were around 25 participants. Students from BA and B.Sc. programmes participated in the event with great fervour and enthusiasm. It was an individual event. Every participant had to articulate a story on the given theme. The criteria for judging were content, fluency and expression. The event gave the students an opportunity to come up with a story of their own, thereby stimulating their creative instincts. It also channelized their inner thought processes about situations and helped them to express themselves in a creative way. Initially, the students were apprehensive about speaking without any reference material, but later they gathered the courage and enthusiasm to speak. 
The faculty coordinators were Prof. Sompurba Basu for English, Dr. Maya for Hindi and Prof. Prasanna for Kannada. The judges for the event were Prof. Suchismita Bastia for English, Dr. Sreenivas for Hindi and Prof Kantharaju for Kannada. The winners were Sriya S (B.Sc. PMCS Sem III) for English, Anu Singh (BA JEP Sem III) and Ahana (B.Sc. BBG Sem III) for Hindi, Pavithra B. (B.Sc. PMCS Sem III) and Dhanushree R (B.Sc. BBG Sem 
III) for Kannada. The students expressed their joy for getting this opportunity to hone their public speaking skills.
