Virtual FDP on Effective Usage of ICT Tools and Econtent Development

Three day Virtual Faculty Development Programme on “Effective Usage of ICT Tools and E-content development” was organized for the benefit of faculties. The session was presided by Director School of Commerce and Management Studies, and Coordinated by the school FDP Coordinators. 80 faculties- internal as well as external from various institutes were participated in the Virtual FDP with complete enthusiasm and excitement. The session was started with a brief introduction of the resource person and followed by session overview on the different ICT Tools and developing high quality E-content to make teaching-learning process better. The resource person enlightened with the available online softwares and OERs through which the appropriate content for the e-content development could be extracted. He also highlighted the importance of OERs and softwares like Menti-meter, Presentation tube, Screen Casting and many others for effective engagement of students in teaching-learning process. It was an interactive session and queries were answered by the resource person.
Resource Person Profile –
Dr. Nitesh Bhatia, is presently working as Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi. He has twelve years of experience in teaching and five years of industry expertise. During the period he has involved in the undergraduate and post graduate teaching in the areas of HR & OB, HR auditing, family business and entrepreneurship. He is currently working on a collaborative research project with Washington University in St. Louis, Olin Business School, investigating the role of individual differences in negotiation.
He conducted MDPs and FDPs on Research Methodology, Team Building, ICT tools usage and E-content development at Indian Institute of Coal Management, Coal India Ltd, Ranchi; Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad; Research & Development Centre for Iron and Steel, Steel Authority of India Ltd., Ranchi and many other places. He published eight research articles in highly reputed journals, five edited chapters and a book added to his recent credentials. He is associated as reviewer and editorial board member for Journal of Organizational Change Management, Emerald Group Publishing, The Journal of Business Economics and Management, Taylor & Francis, U.K., International Journal for Human Resource Management, Taylor & Francis, U.K. and many others.
There was an overwhelming response for the virtual FDP on “Effective Usage of ICT Tools and E-content Development”. Totally 80 faculty members across Bangalore had attended the FDP. Out of 80 participants 95 % of the participants has strongly agreed that the FDP was useful. Majority (97%) of the participant have mentioned that FDP was well planned, structured, organized and it was relevant to their role. (93%) of the respondents were highly satisfied with the materials shared by resource person. 93% have mentioned that resource person was able to share real life examples which made it easier to follow. 95 % of the respondent believed that the facilitator is an effective teacher. Overall 97% of the respondents were highly satisfied with the learning gained from the FDP. Suggestions were considered from all the respondents for the betterment of the forth coming programme.
