Speaker started the session with the words “Future normal like the boat with a mast that needs to be adjusted according to the wind so that it keeps moving in the right direction and also stay afloat” The objective of this Webinar was to train the Management Teachers to change and adapt their teaching skills, techniques, and tools as per the new normal.
The session covered the Changing role of Management teacher in the future normal, changing Management Education in India, New Education Policy 2020- Steps to be taken by all HEIs, Facts of Changes and Challenges in Higher Education in the COVID 19 Era, Changing expectations of students and the responsive changes in the new teaching tools adopting by the faculty fraternity.
Speaker suggested the teaching faculties for developing Teaching-Learning Infrastructure at home by two or three teachers staying in one place for effective preparation and delivery in the online classes, as to which in the normal classroom may not reach beyond the four walls of classroom but in an online class the exposure will be throughout the world and may get recorded. It is a pressure on the part of the teacher.
The students shall be made to understand that online learning is highly learner-centric. Good results will be expected only when learners act more responsibly and exhibit a higher degree of responsiveness. It is also the responsibility of teachers to inculcate the new learning culture among students by adapting to and gaining expertise in online teaching The purpose of this lecture was to develop participants into understand and adapt Online Teaching and learning is not a choice rather it is the only path to travel into the future. Hence, adjust, adapt and excel.
Speakers’ Profile: Dr. SK Prasad, Professor of Management, REVA University
Prof. Dr. S. K. Prasad – an MBA from ANDHRA UNIVERSITY also obtained a Doctorate in Management faculty from the same university. Dr. Prasad worked at CMS GITAM when CMS was established in 1989 till 1997 and after working in AICTE, New Delhi and prestigious B Schools in New Dehli and Bangalore for more than 16 years as Principal and Director he returned to GITAM University as Distinguished Professor of Management.
Dr. Prasad has over twenty seven years of teaching, research and administrative experience. He publishes over 20 articles, three books- Management of Small Scale Industries, Strategic Human Resource Management and Talent Management. He has guided over 250 MBA Projects; 12 M. Phil theses and currently guiding 08 Doctoral scholars in the areas of Marketing, HR and Entrepreneurship.
Dr. Prasad served as Academic Council Member of Bengaluru University and Board of Studies Member - MBA of Visweswaraya Technological University. He is the life member of Indian Society for Training and Development and Indian Society for Technical Education. Indian Institute of Production Engineers has conferred Fellowship in recognition of his contribution to Technical Education – Management Education in the last 25 years.
Currently he is the Governing Body member of Board of Apprenticeship Training Southern Region- An Autonomous Body of Ministry of HRD, Govt of India. Dr. Prasad has been associated with a number of universities, engineering colleges and B Schools as Governing Body member Dr. Prasad is founder and Chairman of National Academy of Management and Entrepreneurship( NAME) non to profit organization engaged in promoting entrepreneurship spirit among youngsters.
