Description of Event:
Smt. Rukmini Shyama Raju Club for Social Service, School of Civil Engineering organized a visit to Bala Mandira Hostel on Friday, 5th April 2019 between 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. 70 students of Civil Engineering took part in the event.
A drive was organized in the college campus where donations in the form of money, clothes, stationeries, packed food items were collected for the children.

The day began with all students leaving the college campus at around 9:00 AM. They reached the hostel at around 10:30 AM. The hostel consisted of around 80 boys whose ages ranged from 7yrs to 17yrs.
The children of the hostel had gathered and welcomed the students. The members of the club then received an opportunity to interact with the children there by organizing fun activities for them.
The children were encouraged to exhibit their talent in dancing and drawing. The students also conducted a cricket match for the children. They were even taught to play sports like football and basketball.

After the events, each child was gifted with a bag which consisted of all basic necessities which included toiletries (like soap, oil, comb, toothpaste and tooth brush), notebook, pen and pencil. They were provided with fruits, chocolates and biscuits as well.
The other materials given to the children included T-shirts, shirts, nightwear, shoes, food items and stationeries. The students bid them adieu and left the hostel at 2:00PM. Lunch was organized for the students in the college campus.
The event was concluded and proved to be a memorable event for all the members of the club who took part in it and would like to thank all the REVA family members and kattigenhalli shopkeepers who stepped forward to lend a helping hand by donating good condition materials for less fortunate children’s.
