Webinar on Post COVID Challenges in Economic Rejuvenation

The Department of Media Studies, School of Arts and Humanities, REVA University organised a webinar on “Post Covid: Challenges in Economic rejuvenation” on 22 May 2020 through Microsoft Teams online platform.

The speaker, Ms Riniki  Sanyal, Alumnus from London school of Economics spoke about the economic impact of Covid-19 on several sectors of the Indian and other foreign societies. She discussed about the boom in the pharmaceutical and healthcare services. Firstly, she focused on job crisis faced by the general public in both formal and informal sectors in the country. She mentioned that some industries were on the greener side while some others were drowning. However, some industries like agriculture and media have advantages and limitations. She emphasized on the outcomes of the crisis caused by the pandemic. Both positive and negative aspects were discussed, especially, regarding the demand suppression of the hospitality, food and beverages industries.  

The following were also discussed:  
•    The requirement of the economists and the government to develop new infrastructure to redesign and rejuvenate the economics of the country
•    The role of problem solving industries in these times and their importance  
•    Necessity for the investors to invest wisely in booming industries
She enlightened the participants about how to observe and analyse the current situation and work accordingly.
