The Department of Media Studies, School of Arts and Humanities, REVA University organised a webinar on “Travel and Editorial photography” powered by FUJIFILM on 23rd May 2020 through YouTube live platform.
Over hundreds of students took part in the webinar to gain some important insights about the Travel and Editorial photography from the FUJIFILM mentor, Abhishek B.A and also the guest speaker, Nishant Ratnakar. The webinar was started by Mr. Abhishek B.A by showing few videos about the fabulous works shot through FUJIFILM cameras. Later, he even showed his works on Travel photography and portraits. He explained how DSLR works and the evolution of camera over the time. He gave the important tips for photography with the information of technicalities as well. Mr. Abhishek BA concluded his session after half an hour and then introduced Mr. NishantRatnakar, Travel and Editorial photographer.
Mr. NishantRatnakar spoke about the idea of storytelling in photography and the importance of capturing the moments. He mentioned that his favourite area in photography was light and life. He showed his few works where he highlighted on daily life collaborations, happiness and sadness. He even shared his story of struggle of becoming a photographer which was quite motivating for the students. He shared insights on his work area of interest in photography - kids, lifestyle, weddings, humans and portrait photography. He spoke about how photography has become a democratic device nowadays. He concluded the event by summarizing his work experience in the Travel and Editorial photography.
