A Webinar on “Career Opportunities in Data Science for Management Graduates” by Dr. Suresh Kandulapti, Lead Data Scientist, Tek Systems Global Services, Hyderanad was organized on 16th May 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM for the students of MBA II Sem, IV Sem and M.Com. IV & II sem. Dr Suresh Kandulapti having 15 years of corporate and acedamic experience. He is currently working as a Lead Data Scientist for the various projects such as Risk, Profitability and Behavioral Analytics, AI Chatbot and Resume Recommendation Engine to name a few.
Dr. Suresh lecture focused on the career opportunities in data science for management graduates. He started with a quote “Data science is sexiest job in 21st century” and stated that data science is air for breathing and leading practice in business. How to analyse, handle and get insights form the data is biggest challenge for the data engineers. Using various examples Dr Suresh answered the above question. He also introduced students about Machine learning and Reinforcement learning techniques. Guided students about the areas like – mathematical, computer, statistic and research methodology knowledge acts as foundation. Further by taking some short term and long terms courses from MOOCS, students can upgrade their skills in the field and process further.
At the end, he gave some details related to various job profiles and list of companies offering data analyst positions for fresh MBA graduates. Ended the session with a positive note. Total of 107 students from MBA II and IV semester and MCOM II and IV semester students participated. The webinar link and e-banner attached below.
