It is of immense pleasure to share that School of Biochemistry has successfully conducted a two day workshop on Hands on Experience in HPLC on 20th and 21st of April 2018. The total participants of 85 from REVA University and other institutions such as M.S.Ramaiah, Garden City University, Indian Academy Degree college, Mahaveer Jain College,Govt. Arts and Science college etc., are benefitted from the workshop. In the inaugural function Chancellor, REVA University, Dr.P.Shyamaraju, Vice-Chancellor, Dr.S.Y.Kulkarni, Dr.N.Ramesh, Dean and Dr.Beena.G, Associate Dean- School of Applied Sciences graced the occasion. Industrial expert from Himalaya Drug Company Dr.U.V.Babu, Head, Phytochemistry Division gave a detailed insight into the recent techniques adopted by the industry with relevance to our training which was greatly appreciated by the audience, followed with an interactive session. Post this session the students were directed to carry out the hands on training and were segregated into batches where in each and every participant was given the opportunity to inject the sample into HPLC instrument. Ms.H.N.Deepa, School of Biochemistry gave a detailed explanation on the handling of HPLC. In a nut shell, this certification programme was an immense success as this would help students in projects, to be ready for internships in industries and also as an invaluable skill added to their resume which would definitely help them in their future endeavors. The Workshop provided theoretical and practical knowledge in a lab environment. Through this workshop we introduced and familiarized students with the instrumentation and processes of HPLC that are key to research and industry in the modern biological sciences. We trained the students with various aspects of HPLC from the basic handling of the instruments to the interpretation of the data from the samples with trouble shooting and its applications.
