It is of immense pleasure to share that School of Biochemistry has successfully conducted a two day workshop on Hands on Training in HPLC with the theme “Isolation and Characterization of Vitamins” on 26th and 27th of October 2018.The total participants of 93 from REVA University and other institutions such as M.S.Ramaiah, Garden City University, Mount Carmel, Seshadripuram etc., are benefitted from the workshop. In the inaugural function Dr.N.Ramesh, Dean and Dr.Beena.G, Associate Dean- School of Applied Sciences graced the occasion. Industrial expert from Himalaya Drug Company Mr.Sharath Kumar, Scientist gave a detailed insight into the recent techniques adopted by the industry with relevance to our training theme which was greatly appreciated by the audience, followed with an interactive session. Post this session the students were directed to carry out the extraction procedure and were segregated into batches where in each and every participant was given the opportunity to inject the sample into HPLC instrument. Dr.Ramesh Kumar Kushwaha, School of Biochemistry gave a detailed explanation on the characterization procedure. In a nut shell, this certification programme was an immense success as this would help students in projects, to be ready for internships in industries and also as an invaluable skill added to their resume which would definitely help them in their future endeavors. Hence, we have stood by our motto “Knowledge is Power”. Many participants requested to organize internship programmes.
