Department of Psychology, School of Arts & Humanities, organized a workshop on “Play Therapy” on 31st January 2020. 50 students from 4th sem and 6th sem BA took part in the workshop. Dr. Sherin P Antony was the resource person for the workshop. She is a trained Psychologist in NIMHANS and now an active member of TRI, Bangalore. She is a play therapist and is trained under PTUK and Play Therapy International (PTI).
She started the session with an introduction to Play therapy and its relevance in different setups. She introduced the tools used in play therapy sessions. The workshop was activity based in which she made the students engage in reflective activity. In the reflective activity she made students understand the importance of space which every person including kids prefer and sensitivity needed in a professional set up while working with small children. She also discussed some of the cases she had handled. Students were very interactive and excited.
