REVA University signs MoU with O-hara Institutions & EWIS Japan for providing Career Development Courses and establishment of Japanese Information Center in collaboration with NSDC at UIIC , REVA University


REVA University has entered into a partnership with University of Strathclyde in the UK in conjunction with the 360 World Wide Skill Development Academia. The initiative is an International Summer School Programme for 2nd and 3rd year Engineering students. The aim of the programme is to support students get better employability in the Indian Engineering sector. Since the programme is on a first come first serve basis, students need to fill in their details and submit the same to their respective International School Coordinator on or before the 30th of October, 2018.

Professor Gary Harris from Georgian College, Canada visit to School of Mechanical Engineering, REVA UNIVERSITY

“Creative thinking is the first step to professionalism” In this regard School of Mechanical Engineering, REVA UNIVERSITY and GEORGIAN College, is planning for a twinning program for the benefit of students. On 28/8/18 and 29/8/18 Prof Gary Harris visited REVA UNIVERSITY. After formal address with Vice Chancellor he visited school of Mechanical Engineering.

Prof Gary Harris and Prof K S Narayanaswamy, Director, School of Mechanical Engineering along with other senior faculty members discussed about the action plan to initiate twinning program from 2019 academic year.

Syllabus of REVA UNIVERSITY and that of Georgian college were compared to work for 3+1 model for twinning program ( ‘3+1’ means that a student will be studying 3 years in REVA UNIVERSITY and 1 year in the overseas university.)

After discussion with faculties Porf Gary Harris addressed students from 3rd, 5th and 7th semester students regarding the twinning program.

MOU Signed with ETSAB, Barcelona, School of Architecture REVA University

Teachers’ Day 2018 was a historic day at School of Architecture REVA University. The delegation from Universitat Politechnica Catalunya or UPC, Barcelona also referred to as ETSAB, comprising Professor, Department of Architecture Ms. Karin Hofert and Professor Jordi Franquesa, Department of Urban Design along with Mr. Sunil Joshi from Wheel of innovations visited the campus for an interaction with Students and Faculty members. The objective of the visit was to explore possible areas of collaboration in the following areas.

  • European Accreditation
  • Joint Studios & Youth Congress

The 5 days ETSAB Workshop Step-by-Step completed yesterday. Students received official Diploma certificate, and faculty received participation certificate. Ater the workshop students took city tour on bicycle to explore Barcelona city. They visited gothic church and La Boqueria on la Ramblas market on 5th day.

Students from the School of Architecture of REVA University are currently attending a 15-day programme at ETSAB, the largest and oldest school of architecture in Catalonia, Barcelona. REVA students are attending workshops to have an understanding about the innovations and creativity involved in the architectural pattern of the city.

Director Dr. Vimala Swamy greeted the delegation and the visit commenced with a brief interaction with the Faculty members. This was followed by a tour of the exhibition hall to view students’ works. Prof. Karen was astounded with the fine quality and in-depth knowledge of the students and showered them with high commendation. She expressed interest in collaborating on joint-studio’s where vernacular knowledge could be shared across continents. This was followed by an interaction with Vice Chancellor, REVA University, Dr. S.Y. Kulkarni, Director International Relations, Dr. Vidya Shetty and members of both Schools. Dr. Vimala Swamy presented on the strength and areas of research at School of Architecture REVA university. Prof. Karen presented on the specializations and structure at ETSAB, Barcelona. Further discussions followed on possible areas to collaborate, including certification programs on Sustainability and short study tours culminating in capturing the heritage and transient urban nature of both Cities.

The visit concluded with signing of the MOU in the presence of Vice chancellor, Dr. S.Y. Kulkarni and the delegation from UPC Barcelona.

The School of Architecture of Barcelona was founded on September 18, 1875 within the University of Barcelona. The ETSAB has enjoyed the prestige of figures such as its first director, Elíes Rogent, or those of modernist architects Lluís Domènech i Montaner, Antoni Gaudí and Josep Puig i Cadafalch. The most significant figures of the Modern Movement and the Catalan school of architecture have also participated in the construction of their teaching tradition and have had a significant influence on the construction of the city: from Josep Lluís Sert and José Antonio Coderch until Contemporary architects such as Rafael Moneo, Oriol Bohigas, Albert Viaplana, Enric Miralles, Ignasi de Solà-Morales and Manuel de Solà-Morales, among others.

The ETSAB continues to exert a continuous influence on the development and design of Barcelona and maintains a permanent dialogue in the debates generated by the city through its critical capacity and its intellectual influence.

MOU with University of Salford

REVA University has signed a MOU with the University of Salford, Manchester, UK to offer Study abroad programmes, Summer School, exchange of students with the Schools of Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Architecture and Performing Arts. Students desirous of enrolling in these programmes or choose to have further details can contact the international office.


University College of Learning (UCOL), New Zealand Chief Executive and President Ms . Leeza Boyce who visited REVA University on the 7th of June, 2018. The visit which was a part of the Collaboration initiative between UCOL and REVA in the domains of Civil Engineering to begin with and then leading onto the fields of Computer Science Engineering had the teams deliberate over possibilities of an Immersion programme with UCOL, Semester abroad and a 2+2 collaboration. The Chancellor, REVA University, Dr P Shyama Raju in his quick exchange with the CEO, Ms Leeza Boyce expressed his keenness to take the partnership forward after the keenness expressed by UCOL. The Vice Chancellor, Dr S. Y. Kulkarni, briefed the team about the uniqueness of the programmes offered at REVA while emphasising on how the University had blossomed over a short span of time to be the most sought after University.

A delegation from Indonesia representing various Universities and Colleges visited REVA University on the 10th of August, 2018. The objective behind the visit of the Delegation was to understand the campus and the programmes offered by REVA University so as to enable them send a cohort of students regularly to the University, have faculty from REVA University visit their campus as Subject Matter Experts and for collaborative work in various projects and research initiatives. Dr Dhanamjaya, the Registrar of the University welcomed the delegates and Dr Ramesh, Dean, Placement and Training, presented an overview of the University. The delegates were impressed with the state-of-the art facilities available at the University and also the quality of academic deliverables. University of North Texas

Mr Pieter Vermeulen, the Director of International Recruitment at the University of North Texas will be addressing students of the third Semester on the 18th of January, 2019 on . Special Lecture Series on “Gender Studies” from Lakehead University

Date: 7th – 11th January 2019

The School of Arts and Humanities of REVA University has always played host to a plethora of activities, workshops and lectures by experts that tease the creative and intellectual faculties of its students. The School has held various literary activities throughout its glorious years and has had international delegates visit the campus to enlighten its students on various literary and pressing socio-political issues that is often the need of the hour. The School of Arts and Humanities had recently organised a week long special lecture series on the raging issue of Gender, that ran from 7th January, 2019 to 11th January, 2019. The resource persons of the special lecture series were Dr. Elizabeth Joy Birmingham (Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities) and Dr. Anne Lorene Chambers (Chair, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities) from Lakehead University, Canada, with whom REVA University has an academic collaboration.

Lakehead University, which has two campuses at Thunderbay and Orillia, offers a wide range of student oriented undergraduate and graduate programs. The University boasts of a multicultural population, with over 500,000 international students calling it their home.

The lecture series was initiated by the delegates with a glimpse into the history of Canada and the evolution of its criminal and civil laws. The students were enlightened about various court cases that changed the course of history, like the case of O.J. Simpson v/s the State. The resource persons emphasised on the role of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms in governing the lives of the citizens and ensuring equality amongst them. The lecture took its course towards highlighting the position of women in the 20th century and their gradual progress towards emancipation. The idea about various social evils like those of domestic violence and sexual abuse struck a similar chord with the marginalised status of women in India. By extrapolating on the issues of rape, abortion and property rights, the speakers stressed on the need for a further amendment in the laws that would work towards the betterment of the condition of women in the 21st century.

The Director of the School of Arts and Humanities, Dr. Payel Dutta Chowdhury, provided an insight into the Indian scenario of violence and abuse which enabled the students to point out the parallels that exist between India and Canada, along with the shared colonial history. This connection, thus, provided a holistic perspective to the lecture series giving the students an international exposure.

University of Liverpool University Visited REVA Campus

Date: 27th of June, 2019

Delegates from the University of Liverpool were at REVA University on the 27th of June, 2019 to discuss and deliberate on collaboration between REVA and Liverpool. Liverpool is one of the elite Russel Group of Universities member established in 1881. They have around 9 Nobel Prize Winners and a student population of 27,000+ students along with 7,700+ international students. It's ranked in the world's top 200 by QS.

The purpose of this meeting was to understand what areas both REVA and Liverpool could collaborate in with regards to undergraduate, postgraduate taught, postgraduate research programmes and any potential areas of exchange into the School of Engineering.

REVA University and SkillSonics collaborates through a formal MOU and offers the following courses.


Bachelor of Vocational Degree (B.Voc) courses are available in several fields for students who have completed their 12th standard or equivalent. This is largely targeted towards youths who want to enhance their employability opportunities to learn, earn and grow. The advantage of these courses is that as against common Degree courses like Engineering, B.Com or B.Sc, here students have multiple exit points and continued exposure to industry. SkillSonics have content in Mechatronic, CNC, Conventional and Advance welding which can be adapted as B. Voc courses


REVA Sponsors the Training of Afghan Teachers

REVA along with TVET Authority, Government of Afghanistan will be training Afghan teachers at REVA Campus. The training is intended to increase the core competency of the teachers in Business Management and Accounting. The Afghan teacher trainees will be trained at REVA University to become efficient teachers and is funded by TVET. This is a one year Residential programme at REVA


NSDC Courses:

National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is one of a PPP model to enhance the skill level and to make youths employable by providing training through their affiliated Sector Skill Councils. SkillSonics is a partner company of NSDC and looks at REVA University to offer NSDC affiliated courses

Kaushalya Karnataka:

This is Karnataka State Government scheme to build skill in youth and to make them employable. SkillSonics is a Training partner with Kaushalya Karnataka can work with REVA University to implement courses offered under this scheme

International Collaboration:

SkillSonics AG works with various Institutes, Industries and research foundation in Switzerland. SkillSonics and REVA University can collaborate and work in this field. SkillSonics and REVA University are working on a research project about Education-Employment Linkage Index of the Dual VET Programme in the State of Karnataka

Study Tour

University of Strathclyde, Glasgow

A group of 15 students accompanied by a faculty will be leaving to UK to attend the Summer School Programme conducted by University of Strathclyde, UK from 28th June to 28th July, 2019. With this we close the University of Strathclyde registrations.

ETSAB, Barcelona

Students from the School of Architecture, REVA University went on a 10 days Educational Tour to Spain. The tour included 5 days exclusive workshop by ETSAB Barcelona followed by next 5 days of site seeing Barcelona and Valencia.

Barcelona Step-By-Step, a workshop by Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB) was organized between 15th and 19thJuly 2019. The Workshop was led by Prof. Hofert Karin, supported by teaching assistants Alex Gimenez, Estel Ortega and Judit Taberna. It was an intensive program comprising several courses addressing specific urban and architectural themes. It focus on the varied sections that shape a town. Reading public space and analyzing growing patterns which helped to understand the identity signs of different tissues. By using Barcelona as case study students will be able to apply the obtained knowledge to other places and circumstances. The workshop comprised lectures, field trips, studio works and group discussions. The key feature of the workshop was, both the students and the teachers got an opportunity to work with multinational (Spanish, Turkish, and Chinese) students and teachers.

REVA University students from the Schools of C&IT, ECE, Civil and Mechanical are attending the Project Based International Summer Internship programme in Russia in July, 2019 at Ural Federal University as part of the agreement with REVA.

Dr Moslares, Dean IQS, Barcelona with who REVA has an active engagement was at REVA on the 29th of July, 2019 to discuss various options and plans ahead for the new academic cycle with REVA. While at campus, Dr Moslares addressed the MBA students on Globalization and current Business Trends.
