The “HAM Boot-Camp” was held by School of ECE in association with Indian Institute of HAM (IIH) on 11th and 12th February 2017 in REVA University. The event started with setting up of VHF antenna on top of the roof and HF antenna inside the building of our University. Students and faculty took part in live demonstration of HAM Radio where they conversed with other HAM Licensed persons from different parts of India and also from Srilanka. The participants experienced the live demonstration of HAM (Amateur) Radio within REVA University campus using Walky-Talky.


The IIH team demonstrated BITx kit, the efficient and economical equipment used to access HF band. Mr. Nithin gave a presentation on “Decoding Telemetry from Amateur Radio Satellites”. Mr. Sathyapal demonstrated how HAM communication works on Android Mobile. The two day session ended with thanks giving by the President of REVA HAM Club, Dr. Venkata Siva Reddy.


In this regard, we would like to thank our beloved Chancellor Sir Dr. P. Shyama Raju for providing all facility and support to conduct HAM Boot-Camp. We also thank our VC, Pro VC, Registrar, Director Planning and Director School of ECE for continuous support and encouragement.


We, the REVA HAM club members headed by Dr. Venkata Siva Reddy, thank all coordinators, participants and SDC coordinators for making the event a grand success.
