School of C & IT had organized a two day workshop on “IT Security and Ethical Hacking” in association with HACKENG on 3rd and 4th of March-2017. 30 students from RU UG had participated in the event. The event was a huge success with the support of all the members of the organizing committee.

Ethical hacking is an important tool in many national security agencies and companies. An Ethical Hacker is usually employed with the organization and can be trusted to undertake an attempt to penetrate networks or computer systems using the same methods a hacker. The goal of the ethical hacker is to help the organization take preemptive measures against malicious attacks by attacking the system himself, all the while staying within legal limits in order to become the Ethical Hacker or Security Expert, one must think of the box with the mentality of a thief in order to catch a thief. This workshop was specifically designed to provide the right knowledge to the aspiring ethical hackers, security enthusiasts. This workshop explored the various means in which an intruder can be able to gain access to computer resources.
