At EFD Induction we'd much rather talk about our passion - induction heating technology and its many industrial applications.

EFD Induction has to date installed thousands of heating solutions for a wide range of industrial applications—bringing the benefits of induction technology to many of the world’s leading manufacturing and service companies. EFD Induction has manufacturing plants, workshops and service centers in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

Induction heating applications

Induction technology can be profitably used for an amazing range of industrial heating applications. And over the past 65 years nobody has done more than EFD Induction to develop perfect solutions for the toughest heating jobs.

Brazing with induction heating

EFD Induction offers brazing in various important fields such as the automotive, aviation, electrotechnicaland white goods industries. It includes brazing of aluminum, brass, copper, copper alloys, iron and cast iron, steel and stainless steel.

There are many reasons why using induction heating instead of gas for brazing is clearly beneficial. Induction transfers more energy per square meter than an open flame, resulting in faster heating cycles—put simply, you produce more components per hour.

The heat is also easy to check and adjust. You reduce the risk of overheating, which can lead to higher porosity and weaker joints. What's more, you reduce the risk of cold brazing as induction generates the heat in the base material. Just as important, induction heating improves the working environment and safety. No gas needed, no open flame, no additional heating.

Hardening with induction heating

The main benefit of induction heating for hardening is that it takes just a few seconds. In a furnace, the same process can take hours or even days. How is that possible?

The answer is that induction is phenomenal at generating heat fast. This, in turn, means you can integrate hardening in the production process. Hardening in a furnace, on the other hand, is more time-consuming (greater heat loss) and requires moving the components either to your own furnace or to that of a sub-contractor.

In-line integration of hardening reduces your lead times considerably. You get full control over quality, delivery times and costs. There's no need to transport kilos of components back and forward, which saves energy and the environment. And last but not least, you cut down the amount of administration to a minimum.

 

  • At first we were divided into two groups, the first went through the PURCHACE DEPARTMENT AND DESIGN DEPARTMENT.
  • Which inturn had two units in particular >Mechanical design department. >Export oriented unit.
  • Instructor for those units was BALAJI, who explained us the overview of the products being assembled such as ‘electrical Inverter,converter,cables,transformers etc.
  • The material was mostly of ‘NANO CRYSTALLINE’ Which is used in diodes. Carries upto “5KW—20KW.
  • There are FLAT TRANSFORMERS with four windings.
  • Frequency obtained is 25KW,12KW& 5KW.

THE HEAT TREATMENT MACHINES ARE HEREBY NAMED AFTER THE PLANETS SUCH AS SATURN,VENUS,JUPITER etc..

MAIN STORE contains of racks of copper, cantilever axles,lubrication circuits,CNC electrical controllers, hose pipes,allied materials, pneumatic items, duplex filters etc…

Steering rod:-

One fine example of induction hardening we got exposed to is hardening of steering rod which has grooves in it and is often subjected to wear and tear. For this particular problem the hardening is done upto certain dept.

SURFACE FINISHING PROCESSES ARE UNDERTAKEN IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN PRECISE PARAMETERS.
