Technical talk on “RADAR: Fundamentals, Applications and Emerging Trends”

The School of ECE had organized a technical talk “RADAR: Fundamentals, Applications and Emerging Trends” on Tuesday, 23rd Jan, 2018 between 9.30 AM to 11:00 AM at Aryabhata Seminar Hall for B. Tech VI Semester ‘A’ section and VIII Semester students. Squadron Leader Suvasita Khare, Senior System Engineer at Indian Air Force was the resource person. She started the session with an Introduction to RADAR and its practical applications followed with current issues and challenges.

Talk focused on the following key points:

  • Radar functions.
  • Antenna Basics
  • Radar range Equation
  • System Parameters
  • Electromagnetic waves
  • Scattering Mechanism
  • Radar cross section and stealth
  • Sample radar systems

Students felt the session was very informative and useful. The session was interactive and students expressed their desire to have more sessions by the resource person.
