The prime motive behind organizing the radio festival was to generate awareness about this powerful medium of mass communication. In the present times of hi-end communication technologies, we are looking at different perspectives of convergent media and how best to maximize the potential of radio as a low cost yet far reaching communication medium. Community Radio, Satellite Radio and radio programs like Mann ki Baat have called for the revival and sustaining of Radio for participatory communication in developing the nation and lending a dominant voice to the voiceless in the society.
