Engineering Drawing is a document that communicates a precise description of a part. They are legal documents, so they must be formal and precise. They are drawn using from compasses to drafters to bring precision to the drawings. Ex: Draw the chair with dimensions so that they can manufacture.

 

Objectives of the workshop:
The overall objective of the workshop is to bring together experts and engineering students in academia in fields related to Computer Aided Engineering Drawing (CAED). The workshop covers theoretical teaching and presentations on orthographic projections (Points, Lines, Planes and solids), Sections of Solids, development of lateral surfaces and isometric projections of combinations of solid& also solving numerical with the help of Solid edge software. The One of the aims of workshop is to enhance learning capabilities of students of CAED from different disciplines, who are presently studying CAED in B Tech Programs.

 

Outcomes of Workshop:
1 - Students are able to understand meaning of orthographic projection, Sections of Solids, development of lateral surfaces represent in two-dimensional views (principal, auxiliary, sections).
2 - Students are able to understand meaning of isometric projections of combinations of solid.
3 - Students are able to dimension and annotate two-dimensional engineering drawings.
4 - Use freehand sketching to aid in the visualization process and to efficiently communicate ideas graphically.
5 - Introduction of CAD software (Solid edge) for the creation of 2D engineering drawings.
6 - The theoretical concepts delivered in this course would help the students to understand the sign considerations and solve numerical on orthographic projections (Points, Lines, Planes and solids), Sections of Solids, development of lateral surfaces and isometric projections of combinations of solid both sketching and with the help of software.
