Title: Research Talk Report on "Wide Instantaneous Bandwidth Receivers for Electronic Surveillance and Cognitive Radio"

The School of ECE had organized research talk on “Wide Instantaneous Bandwidth Receivers for Electronic Surveillance and Cognitive Radio” on 31st August 2019 between 09:00 AM to 10:30 AM in Aryabhatta Seminar Hall, C V Raman Block for UG, PG students, research scholars and faculty members (around 40 participants).

The Resource person of the research talk was Mr. R Rajeev. He graduated as Electronics & Communication Engineer from Sir MVIT Bengaluru and ME in Signal Processing from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). He is currently working as Scientist 'E' at the Defence Avionics Research Establishment, Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Bengaluru.

The Research Talk focused on the following key points:
• Electronic Warfare (EW) Receivers
• Cognitive Radio Receivers
• Wideband DSP based Receiver Architectures
• RF Sampling ADCs in the market
• Sub-Nyquist Sampling Methods
• Introduction to Compressive Sensing
• Why Compressive Sensing for Wideband Acquisition?
• Compressive Sensing for WSA-Challenges and current research
• Research Areas in Wideband Receivers.

We would like to thank our beloved Chancellor Dr. P. Shyama Raju for providing all facility and support to conduct such programs. We also thank Vice Chancellor Dr. S. Y. Kulkarni, Registrar Dr. M. Dhanamjaya, Dean, R& I Dr.B P Divakar for their motivation and support to conduct research talks.
