Empowering new Ham (Amateur) Radio operator to explore on HF operations: 11 Ham members of Indian Institute of Hams have received BITx 40 Mtrs (7.00 to 7.2 Mhz) indigenous transceivers to bounce the intelligence on HF band soon. "MAKE IN INDIA". Workshop was conducted on Saturday, 31st August 2019 by Indian Institute of Hams in association with REVA University Ham Radio Club at REVA University, Bengaluru. Nearly 50 Hams participated. The topics covered were "ANTENNA DESIGN and Optimization using MATLAB, testing of antenna systems using VNA by Mr Jegan-VU3JYU, APRS - Digi repeater, Igate weather station by Mr Ramachandra-VU2RCY, Simple low cost antenna setup to work BITx radio by Mr Rajan-VU3JYT. Workshop on BITx 40 was authored by Mr Sudhindra, VU2VET.

Guest Mr Ramesh- VU3VRF, Secretary, Rajapalyam International Radio Communication club was present and honoured.

Workshop was inaugurated by Dr.R.C.Biradar, Director, School of ECE, REVA University. Mr R.J..Marcus- VU2VTM Director (Training) IIH and Dr. R.V.Siva Reddy, VU3UFF presented the BiTx kits.

All 11 sets of BITx were successful tested at REVA University Ham Radio Club, VU2VET modulated with far of Ham Station and got good reports.

Indian Institute of Hams will further assist these hams to setup their antennas and hope to hear them soon on HF band.

As there is more demand from Ham members, we have planned to make more such transceiver kits and conduct such workshops in next couple of months.
