Report On Guest Lecture On “Students Innovation And Contribution To Smart India, Digital India And Make In India” By Mr. Shashank Krishna

A technical talk on the theme-" Students innovation and contribution to Smart India, Digital India and Make in India" by the expert speaker- Mr. Shashank Krishna has been organized by the joint efforts of the School of Management Studies and School of Electronics and Communication Engineering on Friday, 13th of April, 2018 at 10.30am.

The event started with an overwhelmingly warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Nitu Ghosh, followed by words of motivation by Dr. R.C. Biradar, Director of School of ECE . Dr. R.C. Biradar welcomed our Chief Guest, Mr. Shashank with a Sapling signifying a symbiotic and enriching association between us in the future. The talk was hosted by Dr. Santhosh B. of the School of Management Studies. One of the MBA students, Ms. Apoorva sang a melodious rendition to invoke the blessings of the Goddess of Enlightenment. The audience were inspired by the motivating words of Dr. R.C. Biradar followed by the interesting talk by Mr. Shashank Krishna.

 

The technical talk has been conducted in Kalpana Chawla Hall, CV Raman Block, REVA University and attended by 200 students and faculty of both schools. Mr. Shashank has been Awarded with Smartathon (Smart City) Award by Government of Karnataka (SUDA) – State Award for the remarkable contribution towards smart signal system to ease the traffic flow which is now being implemented all over India. The talk focused on encouraging our bright students to come up with innovative ideas to develop smart cities and make our country the best in the world.

Mr. Shashank Krishna enlightened the gathering with his wonderful invention that is been used in Traffic signal processing throughout the city of Bengaluru. He inspired the students to brainstorm ideas that could help contribute to the development of Smart cities in India. He discussed about the various innovative ways through which India could develop further and cities can develop as smart cities.

The talk ended up with 15 minutes of question and answer session which provided the students an open platform to share their innovative ideas of solving the day to day civic problems and making the Indian cities better place to stay. The resource person gifted 10 students who shared the best ideas with special pens that would be used in space, indigenously made in India and worth Rs 3000 each. Students were elated and highly motivated to think innovatively and interact enthusiastically.

We are very grateful to our Director, Dr. R.C. Biradar and Dr. Shubha A who has provided us the motivation and support to organise such type of programs and invite experts from the Industry who share their knowledge, expertise and experience with our students facilitating their holistic development. A deep sense of gratitude to the management of REVA University for all the support and facilities provided in this direction. We are also immensely obliged to Mr. Shashank Krishna’s team for the support, coordination and valuable knowledge shared with our students and faculty.
