International Day of YOGA REVA University

On this day the 21st of June 2018 International Yoga day was celebrated at REVA University.

Swami Abhayananda Maharaja of Ramakrishna Mission graced the occasion as the chief guest of the day and stressed on the importance of yoga. He also stated that Indian ethos are based on prosperity and wisdom. Yoga plays a vital role in personality development and also is an ailment to physical and mental disorders. He quoted “STRENGTH IS LIFE, WEAKNESS IS DEATH” and advised to practice yoga everyday to keep our self fit and fine.

Dr. P. Shyama Raju honorable chancellor of REVA UNIVERSITY rendered the presidential address and shared his secret for fitness by remembering the golden days of his youth, where he himself was into farming (agriculture).

Dr. P. Shyama Raju sir is an active person who engages himself with 2 hours of yoga and physical exercise to keep himself fit.

Dr. P. Shyama Raju also stressed on the importance of yoga for our Physical and mental health with comparison to the food, air and water which are very essential for every human being. “Your body would rust if you give it rest” was the highlight of the speech.

He advised the youth to avoid Junk food which is a slow poison and to practice yoga everyday to keep oneself fit throughout their life.

The International Yoga day at REVA University was graced by the honorable Chancellor Dr. P. Shyama Raju sir, Sri Swami Abhayananda Maharaj (President of Ramakrishna Vivekananda Vedanta Ashrama Yelahanka , Bengaluru) followed by Dr. S.Y Kulkarni (Vice – Chancellor), Dr. N. Ramesh (Dean, Planning and Placement Training), Dr. V.G. Talwar (Advisor REVA University and Dr. Shubha (Principal of Sanjaynagar campus).

There were nearly two thousand participants which included students and faculties of REVA University. There were also participants from outside the campus. Students of Bharathi Public school, Students and faculties of Kattigenahalli, Govt. School and Sathnur Govt. School students and faculties were also present and perform Yoga.
