School of Architecture, REVA University organized an expert lecture on Building Services, Mechanical ventilation (HVAC) at room number 103, 1st floor, Swami Vivekananda block on 15 Feb 2019 from 1.30 to 3.45 pm by Prof. Lakshminarasimha. N., IGBC AP, M.Tech (Thermal Engg. - Gold Medalist), Mechanical Engineering Department, New Horizon College of Engineering, Bangalore.

This expert lecture was organized mainly for the 6th semester students, as they have subject called Building services , part of their curriculum, where they have to be introduced to the  practical issues and current trends in HVAC and its application.

Prof. Lakshminarasimha began the talk by explaining the basic components of Air-conditioning and human comfort and functioning of HVAC system and its principles like refrigeration cycle and its components. Apart from that he also explained about equipment’s like grills and ducting system in HVAC system.

He also explained the advantages and disadvantages of mechanical ventilation. He also gave insights into the various limitations on site, while undertaking an installation of HVAC system, which includes structural limitations, performance limitations,   etc.
