The School of Computing and Information Technology organized an Industrial visit to District Telecom Training Centre (DDTC), BSNL, Jayanagar on 28/03/2019 for the students of 6th Semester ‘A’ Section.
Total of 45 students attended the visit, accompanied by 3 Faculty members.
The students and faculty members were received by the Training Principal, DDTC, BSNL. All were taken in a training room and briefed on working environment and technology used @DDTC. The students were divided into 5 batches (Each batch had 13 students) and each of them were taught about different modules with pure focus on switching and transmission systems. The visit was to give real-time industrial exposure in recent technologies of Telephone Exchange for Digital Switching and Transmission systems/Mobile communication Installations/Optical Fibre Cable etc.
The students have expressed great satisfaction after gaining the practical applications w.r.t Physical layer, transmission of data, switching and transmission technologies, optimized use of the channel capacity available in digital telecommunication networks, such as computer networks. They are able to reason about the minimization of the transmission latency, and increased robustness of communication.
We would like to thank our beloved Chancellor Dr. P. Shyama Raju Sir, for providing all facilities and support to carry out the visit. We also thank Vice Chancellor Dr. S.Y. Kulkarni sir, Registrar Dr. M. Dhanamjaya sir, Dean, Placement, Training, and Planning Dr. N. Ramesh sir for their constant support in organizing such events.
We thank our beloved Director, School of C&IT, Dr. Sunilkumar S. Manvi Sir for his constant encouragement and guidance in organizing for all such activities.
We also thank our General Manager Col. K. Nataraj sir and Deputy GM (Admin) Mr. G. Lakshmanan sir for the logistical support.
We also extend thank to all the faculties of the School of C&IT for their support.
