Report on Perspective sketching workshop

Sketching in architecture is often used to express an idea and clarify the intent of the design. Perspectives are an extremely crucial part of all architectural presentations; an architect should have a steady foundation in perspective drawing to establish his authority.

Thus, to inculcate this technique a workshop for “Perspective Sketching” was conducted for the 2nd semester students. Students were asked to select any sight of their choice in the campus and were instructed to sketch that view. Faculties guided them to understand the basic elements of perspective sketching such as scale, proportion, depth perception, light and shadow. This improved their free hand sketching giving them confidence in showcasing the way architects perceive their surroundings.
