REVOTHSAVA - 2019 represents a carnival of the various cultures of India that amalgamates ancient Indian traditions along with contemporary Indian ethos. This fest provides a platform for the young to showcase their talent in the arenas of Dance, Music, Theater, Literary, Computer Games and Sports. The ecstasy and the sheer joy seeing a campus of 45 acres decorated with the cultures of Bharat on one side and the young people showcasing the talent on other side is boundless. Rules & Regulations Music

  • Only 1 entry per University.
  • Minimum duration of performance: 8 minutes.
  • Time for stage/sound check is maximum 2 minutes.
  • Maximum number of accompanists is 2.
  • Presentation can be either in Hindustani or Carnatic style.
  • Cinematic songs are not allowed.
  • Sufficient care and thought must be exercised in the choice of raga and composition.
  • Judgment is based on qualities like taal, selection of raga, composition and overall impression.
  • Only 1 entry per University.
  • A team has to present two songs, one patriotic and one folk song.
  • Maximum 6 singers in a group and number of accompanists playing instruments shall be 3.
  • The group songs should be taken from Indian songs, which can be in a regional language too.
  • Maximum time allowed for the group song is 8 minutes.
  • Time allowed for sound check will be 2 minutes.
  • Judgment is on the basis of quality of singing and overall impression. Not on make-up, costumes etc.
  • Only 1 entry per University.
  • Duration of the song shall be a maximum of 6 minutes.
  • Time for stage / sound check is 2 minutes.
  • Maximum number of accompanists is 2.
  • Only English songs to be performed.
  • Judgment is made on qualities like rhythm, composition coordination and overall impression.
  • Only 1 Band per University.
  • Minimum of 4 members in a team.
  • Teams must send an MP3 track/video of their performance on or before 15th March, 2019. Send an email to “revothsava@reva.edu.in.” with the subject "Battle of Bands- Band name, University".
  • 8 bands will be shortlisted for finals. No on-spot entries will be entertained.
  • Maximum time allotted is 5 minutes for setup and 10 minutes for performance.
  • Judgment is on the basis of originality, interface with audience, quality of performance, and stage presence of the band.
  • No foul language, inappropriate actions or attire are permitted. Failure to abide by the rules will result in disqualification.

Dance

  • Each University can send only 1 entry.
  • Duration: 6+2 minutes inclusive of stage setup.
  • Maximum 2 accompanists are permissible
  • Music (.MP3) must be submitted in a pen drive label and labeled with the name of the University at least 1 hour before the performance.
  • Performer should be in the proper dress, jewelry, makeup etc.
  • Each University can send only 1 entry.
  • The classical dance can be from any of the approved schools of dance. Such as Kathak, Kathakali, Bharatanatyam, Manipuri, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam, Odissi etc.
  • Participant will be allowed up to 15 minutes including time for preparation.
  • Maximum 3 accompanists are permissible.
  • Music (.MP3) must be submitted in a pen drive and labeled with the name of the University, at least 1 hour before the performance.
  • Performers should be in the proper dress, jewelry, makeup etc.
  • Judgment will be based on the qualities like Taal, Technique, Rhythm, Abhinaya or Expression, Costumes, Footwork and general impression etc.
  • Each University can send only 1 entry.
  • Music (.MP3) must be submitted in a pen drive and labeled with the name of the University to the volunteers in-charge.
  • Total number of participants per team should not exceed 12.
  • Minimum number of people on stage should be 6 and upto 15.
  • Time limit for the performance should be 10 minutes (including stage set-up).
  • Deviation from the theme chosen and contemporary dance style is discouraged.
  • Participants will be judged on the basis of:
    • Choreography & Expression
    • Theme & Execution
    • Co-ordination & Energy
    • Costume, Make-up & properties
  • Decision of the judges will be final and binding.
  • Use of inflammable properties is prohibited
  • No stage marking or rehearsals permitted
  • Each University can send in only 1 entry.
  • Music (.mp3) must be submitted in a pen drive labeled with the name of the University to the volunteers in-charge.
  • Total number of participants per team should not exceed 15.
  • Minimum number of people on stage should be 6 and upto 15 respectively. Time limit for the performance should be 10 minutes (including stage set-up).
  • Participants will be judged on the basis of:
    • Choreography & Expression
    • Co-ordination & Energy
    • Creativity
    • Costume, make-up & properties
  • Decision of the judges will be final and binding

  • No Classical dance forms allowed

  • Music will be played by the DJ on the spot
  • There will be a showcase round in which teams will be shortlisted followed by the battle. (The number to be shortlisted will be decided based upon the overall number of participants in that round)
  • Each battle will last for 45 seconds.

Theatre

  • Only 1 team is allowed from each Institution
  • Maximum number of 6 participants are allowed to participate in this item.
  • Maximum time allotted for each team is 10 minutes.
  • Use of make-up, drapery and background music is allowed.
  • Participating team should submit three copies of the synopsis of the theme of Skit, along with language of presentation (Hindi or English) on the day of registration.
  • The item is judged basically on qualities like theme, work-on acting, stage-craft, design and overall impression.
  • Vulgarity or bitter insinuations in presentation should be avoided. Only innocent satire and healthy humor are expected.
  • Only 1 entry from each institution is entertained.
  • Maximum number of 6 participants are allowed to participate in this item.
  • Judgment is most likely based on the qualities like idea, creativity of presentation, make-up, music, formation and overall impression.
  • Duration of performance shall be a maximum 8 minutes.
  • Only 1 entry from each institution is entertained.
  • The time limit is 4-5 minutes.
  • The participants will be judgedon the basis of content, fluency, spontaneity, presentation and sense of humour.
  • No participant can point out any individual or religion in any way, and any dual meaning obscene content is strictly prohibited.
  • Decision of the judges will be final and abiding.

Literary

  • Each University will be represented by two debaters; one will speak FOR, while the other will speak AGAINST the motion. There will be a moderator for each round.
  • The medium of expression will be English.
  • The topic of the debate will be announced in advance.
  • Each debater will be allowed to speak for maximum 5 minutes.
  • Paper-reading is not allowed.
  • Only 1 participant is allowed per University
  • Each participant will be given a topic on the spot, with a preparation time 2 minutes.
  • No stopping, deviation or repetition of words is allowed while the topic is on.
  • Participants shall use English only.
  • Participants will be notified twice, once past 45 secs and once the event is completed.
  • The participants will be judged based on ORIGINALITY and CONTENT.
  • Marks will be deducted for taking extra time.

Fine Art

  • Team shall consist of two members only.
  • Participants will be given 1 hour and 30 min. to show their creativity and 2 minutes to talk about the same.
  • The required waste material and stationery like scissor, thread, etc. should be brought by the participants.
  • Waste material could be anything like tetra packs, bottles, newspapers, old utensils, jute material or any second-hand items that otherwise would be thrown away.
  • The material would be rejected if not found to be a waste product or second-hand item.
  • No ready or semi-finished model would be accepted from participants in competition.
  • Participants will be judged based on creativity, utilization of resources, artistic composition & design, eco-friendly rating, utility of the Product and overall presentation
  • No mobile or Internet means would be allowed at the time of the competition.
  • The decision of the judges will be considered final and abiding.
  • Each University will be represented by one participant.
  • The duration will not be more than 2 hours. Participants shall bring their own material. This art is known differently in various regions such as Mandna, Alpana, Alekhan, Kolam, Rangoli, etc. For this the medium and form for expression can be free hand, pictorial and descriptive.
  • The Participants shall have to prepare a Rangoli within the space provided by the organizers.

Gaming

  • The default settings must not be altered, and any participants who are found doing the same will be disqualified.
  • The final result screen must be kept as it is for the referees to review.
  • The participants should carry their own controllers.
  • The players would be required to have the preconfigured settings verified by the referees before the gaming session starts.
  • A knife round will determine who will start as Counter-Terrorists (CT) and as Terrorists (T).
  • A match consists of 16 rounds. Each team has to play 8 rounds as CT and 8 rounds as T.
  • Participants with any sort of foreign commands, executable files or storage peripherals, if found would be disqualified from the tournament.
  • The game shall be paused for a maximum of 5 Minutes.
  • If the game is abandoned in between, there is no option to re-join or resume the match.

Sports General Rules

  • All the matches will be conducted on league cum knock-out basis. (Only 12 teams on a first come-first serve basis)
  • The Participating team (players) should produce recently renewed identity cards issued by the respective University along with bonafide certificates duly signed by Principal/Physical Education Director before playing matches.
  • Players representing their University must be on roll during present academic year.
  • The scheduled time of each event will be displayed on the fixtures.
  • A strict code of conduct and discipline is expected from all participating teams.
  • The decision of the umpires/referees will be final and binding. No protest against umpires/referees will be entertained
  • Decision of Organizing Committee is final and binding on all matters.
  • Use of foul language, violence, degradation, personal comments in the game, is unacceptable and will lead to disqualification of the team.
  • The Entry should be sent to the phyedu@reva.edu.in Department of Physical Education along with the Entry Fee Prescribed

T20Cricket Rules

  1. All the matches will be conducted on league cum knock-out basis and 4 group, 2 league matches and 2 qualify per group. (Only 12 teams on a first come-first serve basis)
  2. The scheduled time of each event will be displayed on the fixtures.
  3. The team consist of 15 players (11+4)
  4. All the matches shall be played adhering to KSCA Rules.
  5. Teams are required to carry SG Club Ball for each of the Matches.
  6. In Case of a tie, the winner will be decided by “Super-over”.
  7. The Entry should be sent to the phyedu@reva.edu.in Department of Physical Education along with the Entry Fee Prescribed.

All the players to read the terms and conditions and abide by it during the tournament.

  1. All teams should report at 8.00 AM on 21st March 2019 at REVA University.
  2. Each team should consist of 7+3 players.
  3. Each match will consist of 2 halves of 15 minutes each.
  4. Only out-station team will be provided Accommodation.
  5. In case the matches are not completed, the tournament will spill over to the following day.
  6. Last date to confirm the entry is on or before 18th March 2019 by 4:00 PM.
  7. Respective Team Manager/Physical Director/Coach should accompany the team.
  8. Entry Fee of Rs. 1,000/- to be deposited before commencement of the match with organizers.
  9. Teams reporting late shall lose over at the rate of one over for every 4minutes.
  10. The REVOTHSAVA Hockey Trophy will be awarded to winners and the runners up will also receive a trophy along with certificates and attractive prizes. Individual prizes for the best player.
  11. The tournament committee shall have powers to alter/amend the rules for all matches during the tournament and shall also possess powers to dispose of all the cases with respect to this tournament not covered by above rules.

  1. The tournament begins on 21st March 2019 and fixture would be provided to the teams upon arrival and registration.
  2. If any inconsistencies are found in the details provided by the teams, the players as well as the entire team are liable to disqualification.
  3. Discipline is expected from all participating teams. If any act of indiscipline is noted, the team will be disqualified from the tournament.
  4. Teams must report to the venue of the game 30 minutes prior to the scheduled timing of their match.
  5. Rules and regulation prescribed by the International basketball federation (FIBA) will be followed.
